REI Co-op Hyperaxis Fleece Pants
As mentioned before, it’s harder to find winter hiking pants than summer bottoms. When weather doesn’t require full on snow pants, fleece pants are the next best thing. They are cozy and warm with some wind and rain protection.
I tried on all the fleece pants in the REI store and found the best fabric and fit in the Co-op brand Hyperaxis Fleece Pants. They were ultra-soft, comfortably stretchy, and the best deal available.
I enjoyed the pants for hiking, errands, and as a base layer for sub-zero Celsius/single digit Fahrenheit days.
The pants were less comfortable after the first wash, which transformed that brush softness into nubby texture. It was disappointing to lose that coziness but not disappointing enough to return the pants.
